Samir Ljuma is an acclaimed cinematographer and producer. He worked as DOP on several documentary films and collaborated with various macedonian and foreign film directors. For the last 5 years he has worked closely with the Oscar nominated directors Ljubomir Stefanov and Tamara Kotevska particularly on the projects related to nature conservation and environmental issues such as “Lake of Apples” and "Honeyland" as well as various short videos promoting nature conservation projects in North Macedonia. He also worked as a Producer on projects for various international projects such as: “Fake News Fairytale”, winner of the Grierson Award, directed by Kate Stonehill. “Selling Lies” directed by Oscar nominee director Leslie Iwerks and produced by Morgan Freeman’s company “Revelation Entertainment” and“Iwerks&Co”. He is a DOP as well as the Producer of the short film “Mishko” directed by Hanis Bagashov. Samir is the winner of the American Society Of Cinematographers Award for best Documentary cinematography as well as IMAGO Award, IDA Award, Cinema Eye Honors Award, Sundance Film Festival award.
