Discussion: The incredible world of the autistics following the screening of THE REASON I JUMP, dir. Jerry Rothwell
Language: Polish
Partner institution: Centrum Terapii Autyzmu “Ja sam!”
“The Reason I Jump” depicts the world as seen by a teenager with autism. This form of narration--”for us, by us”--brings the perspectives of people facing various challenges into the social discourse that concerns them. Why is it important to assume the perspective of a person with autism both in therapy and in daily life? What are the challenges faced by the people on the spectrum and how does society perceive them? Which ideas about autism are true and which ones are a myth?
