Debate following the screening of WE BELIEVE IN DINOSAURS, dir. Clayton Brown, Monica Long Ross

Language: Polish

The pandemic enhances problems and phenomena. On the one hand, conspiracy theories about the origins and potential cures for COVID-19 abound (“does the virus even exist?!”); on the other, people reach out to scientists hoping for accurate knowledge in these uncertain times. Scientists vs Fake News: which side is more likely to win this clash and why? How can we disarm conspiracy theories? “We Believe in Dinosaurs”, the starting point of this debate, recounts the tale of evolutionary denialism: a conspiracy theory particularly popular among fundamentalist Christians in the United States.
