Discussion: On the trail of Wrocław bookstores following the screening of THE BOOKSELLERS, dir. D.W. Young
Language: Polish
“The Booksellers”, a tribute to New York’s legendary bookstores, antiquarians, libraries, and private collections, will serve as the starting point of our discussion about the Wrocław book market and Polish readership habits. Grzegorz Czekański of the Tajne Komplety bookstore will join us in contemplating the readership in Lower Silesia. Where can we look for good books and a pleasant vibe? Which books are bestsellers and which languish unsold on the shelves? Is reading a relic of the past—or is it something very, very attractive?
Guest:
Grzegorz Czekański—bookseller, director, cultural animator, writer, co-founder of the Tajne Komplety bookstore. Initiator of numerous reading-adjacent projects like “On the trail of Wrocław bookstores” or the “Wrocławiu, marsz do księgarni!” festival of antiquarian and regular bookstores.
