What makes romantic comedies both appealing and problematic? How do they impact us? What kind of love do they model and does anyone still believe in it? Psychology talks about the Cinderella complex: Cinderella fears independence and subconsciously wishes to be taken care of. Modern women are losing interest in looking for Prince Charming; is it the men’s turn to play Cinderella? How do changing models of femininity and masculinity influence the perception of romantic comedies? Where should their authors seek inspiration in order to reflect contemporary relationships?

Aleksandra Domańska — actress, her films include “Taxing Love”, “(Nie)znajomi”, and the feminist Instagram miniseries “I Burn Easily”. Co-founder of the body-positive Boginie collective.

Roma Gąsiorowska — stage, TV, and film actress (“Letters to Santa”, “Serce nie sługa”). Coauthor of books and self-improvement workshops for women. Founder of the aktoRstudio acting school.

Katarzyna Miller — therapist, opinion journalist, philosopher. Author of several books. Collaborates with Zwierciadło and Sens magazines.

Karol Jachymek, PhD — culture scholar, film scholar, SWPS University lecturer. His field of interest is history of the cinema viewed through the lens of social transformation; issues of body, gender, and sexuality; as well as all forms of popular culture.
