Why do we photograph wars? Meeting with photographer Maciej Moskwa following the screening of PHOTOGRAPHER OF WAR, dir. Boris Benjamin Bertram

Language: Polish

What is today’s war photography like? Where do we seek friends on the front lines? What’s the life cycle of wars in media and who actually cares about them? How can we talk about the horror of armed conflicts in a time when images of Aleppo bombing victims are accompanied by hummus recipes? How do war photographers handle their private lives? Join us for a unique meeting with two war photographers: Jan Grarup on the screen and Maciej Moskwa live on the stage.

Guest:

Maciej Moskwa — involved with photojournalism and long-term photographic projects. Frequently traveled to post-2011 Syria to document the results of the conflict and anti-government revolution.

Moderator:

Przemek Rydzewski — co-founder and coordinator of the Tri-City edition of Millennium Docs Against Gravity, co-organizer of the Gdynia Literary Prize and its affiliated festival, Miasto Słowa.
