“Rediscovery” is the story of what happens if you let a group of children loose on a deserted construction site in Copenhagen and ask them to build a new society from scratch? Will it be a democracy or something entirely different? In this film, Phie Ambo sets up a story, a challenge and an experiment with children. We follow the process when a group of children ages 9-14 who – each in their own way – find their place in their homemade society.
The concept is that they have 10 weeks to create what they think is an ideal society. In addition to the experiment, the film hopes to establish a first insight into the Green School and their teaching strategy, and how the children thrive in an alternative school. The fact that we are standing on a burning platform due to climate change is gradually evident to us all and so are the prospects for the future of the next generation. So how do we prepare the generation that is to live on this burning platform, and make them transform it into a green and harmonious sphere? How do you make children want to make a change with their own future in mind?
