TVP Kultura Award
Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival, an institution which moves and inspires audiences and highlights the importance of documentary filmmaking, is a longtime collaborator of the TVP Kultura channel. TVP Kultura will award its own Best Film prize during this year’s edition of MDAG. While crafting its programme, TVP Kultura aims to build a place of dialogue, debate, and exchange of ideas. This goal is aided by documentary movies, which stimulate audiences to analyze contemporary global issues.
TVP Kultura screens the works of widely known filmmakers like Sergei Lozhnitsa, Werner Herzog, or Wim Wenders, as well as those by niche or more controversial creators who don’t shy away from difficult topics, like Ulrich Seidl or Joshua Oppenheimer. The airwaves of TVP Kultura showcase a range of documentary subjects, from biographies and history—“Salt of the Earth”, “Hitchcock/Truffaut”, or “Putin’s Witnesses”—to sociology and ethics, like “The Swedish Theory of Love”, “I Am Not Your Negro”, or “Genesis 2.0”. The TVP Kultura channel works hand in hand with organizations who similarly care about broadening the viewers’ cognitive horizons.
